As strange as this set of observations may sound funny, but the pair discuss the prevalence of depreciation schedules, investor awareness in relation to tax refunds, and the changes to the Australian property industry.

Mike’s business has recently completed an interesting ‘White Paper’ study titled 1,000 Assets.

The study involved a four year documented focus on investor behaviour, from location trends to renovation expenditure and beyond. MCG Quantity Surveying uncovered some 40+ trends within the study and their work will continue to shape our ability to profile Australian investor behaviour.

In March, Mike provided Cate with the raw insights in an effort to identify the behaviour behind the trends and to glean a better understanding of some of the drivers for these investor behaviours.

Armed with the entire data set, Cate asked Mike if they could distill her top four trends on The Property Diaries for our listeners.

Cate unpacks some of the likely explanations from the coal face and sheds light on some of the methodology for how units are designated.
